Polish company Kognor Group inaugurates a brand new automated steel factory

Polish steel company Cognor Group announced that its newly built steel plant in Siemianowice Śląskie, Silesia Province, Poland, has been completed and is now in operation. B20P075 GO Silicon steel sheets, The total investment for the project was approximately 830 million Polish zlotys (PLN).

The new factory will focus on producing structural steel and bars for the construction, energy, automotive, and defense industries, with a designed annual production capacity of approximately 450,000 tons. As a result, the factory will employ only about 120 people, significantly fewer than traditional steel mills of comparable size.

According to the energy-saving and carbon reduction design of the new factory, the Cognor Group will also build an 8-megawatt (MW) solar power plant to supply approximately 70% of the factory's electricity needs, significantly reducing reliance on the external power grid and aligning with the EU's "green industrial transformation" direction.

Przemysław Sztuczkowski, president of the Cognor Group, stated that the investment aims to enhance the company's competitiveness in an environment of declining market demand.
