What’s the types of Hot dip Aluminized or Aluminium-Silicon(AS) steel ?

There are two types of Aluminized steel(AS) sheets: one is called Class 1, which is mainly based on heat resistance and can withstand high temperatures of around 640 ° C. This type of Aluminized steel steel plate is coated with 20-25 microns thick Al Si alloy (with a Si content of 6-8.5%) on low-carbon steel plates. Another type is called Class 2, which is mainly based on corrosion resistance, and its coating thickness is 2-3 times that of Class 1. Regardless of which type, the coating is formed using the hot dip method. Therefore, a thin alloy layer is formed between the base material and the coating of low-carbon steel plates. Class 1 forms an Al Fe Si alloy layer, while Class 2 forms an Al Fe alloy layer. Compared to Class 1, Class 2 has poor weldability due to its low melting point and thick coating.
