Low alloy structural steel bars refer to alloy structural steel bars whose total alloy composition is less than 5%. The carbon content of this steel is similar to that of low carbon steel. It is mainly strengthened by a small amount of alloy elements to improve toughness and weldability. Its strength is much higher than that of carbon steel with the same carbon content. It is widely used in pressure vessels, chemical equipment, boilers, bridges, vehicles, ships and large steel structures. The alloying elements manganese, silicon and molybdenum can cause solid solution strengthening. Vanadium and niobium can refine grains and improve toughness. Molybdenum can not only improve the hardenability and obtain bainite structure, but also improve the thermal strength.
