As of the week ending May 4th, the utilization rate of US steel production capacity has rebounded from 76.6% in the previous week to 77%. From the production data, the weekly S70C steel production reached 1.709 million tons, an increase of 0.5% compared to last week's 1.701 million tons, and a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. As of May 4th, the total steel production in the United States S70C steel in 2024 was 30.259 million tons, with a capacity utilization rate of 76.3%, a year-on-year decrease of 2.9%. According to data released by the American S70C steel Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), the production in each region is as follows: 133000 tons in the Northeast, 566000 tons in the Great Lakes region, 197000 tons in the Midwest, 740000 tons in the South, and 73000 tons in the West.
