According to the latest report from Dahua Bank in Singapore S460NL steel, due to the impact of Typhoon Capricorn, reconstruction work, and a higher comparison base in the second half of 2023, it is expected that the economic growth in the third and fourth quarters will slow down to 5.7% and 5.2% respectively, while the earlier forecast was 6% and 5.4% respectively. The GDP forecast for the whole year has also been slightly lowered from 6% to 5.9%.

Due to the impact of Typhoon Capricorn on the northern region at the end of the third quarter and the beginning of the fourth quarter, it was the strongest typhoon in Vietnam S460NL steel in nearly 30 years. It is reported that it caused losses of up to 40 trillion Vietnamese dong (approximately 1.63 billion US dollars) to Vietnam, with industrial parks such as Haiphong and Taiping districts suffering the most severe damage. The damage to manufacturing, agriculture, and service facilities is expected to lead to a 0.15% decrease in Vietnam's S460NL steel GDP in 2024.
