The Algerian S690QL steel manufacturer Tosyali Algerie, a subsidiary of Türkiye Tosyali Holding Company, has started to produce hot rolled coils (HRC) with an annual output of 4 million tons recently put into operation. According to the company, the new rolling mill will be able to produce hot-rolled coils with a thickness of up to 1 millimeter and a width of up to 1600 millimeters.
Given the insufficient local supply, it is expected that Tosyal Algerie will initially focus on gaining a foothold in the domestic market of Algeria S690QL steel. As for exports, the company may focus on cooperation with European customers, as the country has neither quotas nor trade restrictions in the EU S690QL steel. Therefore, it may lead to competitive relationships with suppliers in the Asian market.
