According to the World Steel 10CrMo9-10 steel Association report, in October 2024, crude steel production in Arab countries reached 3.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 0.4%. Although some major steel producing countries have experienced a decline in production, overall production has maintained a slight increase.
Specifically, Egypt continues to lead Arab 10CrMo9-10 steel countries with a production of 950000 tons, despite a year-on-year decrease of 7.3%, it still holds the top spot. Saudi Arabia ranks second with a production of 840000 tons, a decrease of 2.4%. Algeria has shown positive performance, with a production of 400000 tons, a year-on-year increase of 11.1%, ranking third steadily.
During the period of January to October 2024, the total crude steel production of Arab countries was 33.6 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1.7%. Among them, Egypt remains the country with the largest production, with a total output of 8.9 million tons, an increase of 4.8%; Saudi Arabia's production was 7.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.9%; Algeria's production slightly increased to 3.7 million tons, a growth of 0.8%.
From a regional distribution perspective, Gulf countries account for 48% of the total Arab production, which is 16.3 million tons, with Saudi Arabia leading the Gulf region with 48% of production. The North African region 10CrMo9-10 steel contributed 43% of the total Arab production, reaching 14.5 million tons, with Egypt accounting for 61% of the share. The production in the Eastern Mediterranean region is 2.8 million tons, accounting for 9% of the total production, with Iraq accounting for 88% of the share.
