Australia announces expiration of anti-dumping measures on Chinese steel bars

On February 13, 2025, the Australian Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2025/004, stating that the anti-dumping measures on steel reinforcing bars with a diameter of 50 millimeters or less imported from China will expire on April 13, 2026. Stakeholders should submit a sunset review investigation application before April 14, 2025.A204 Grade A steel, If no application is received before the above deadline, the anti-dumping measures against the Chinese products involved will be terminated upon expiration.

On July 1, 2015, Australia initiated an anti-dumping investigation into steel bars imported from China.A204 Grade A steel, On April 13, 2016, Australia made a positive final ruling on the case.

On July 10, 2020, the Australian Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2020/074, stating that the first anti-dumping sunset review investigation has been initiated on steel bars imported from China in response to an application submitted by Australian company InfraBuild (Newcastle) Pty Ltd. On April 12, 2021, the Australian Anti Dumping Commission issued Announcement No. 2021/030, deciding to continue implementing anti-dumping measures on steel bars with a diameter of 50 millimeters or less imported from China from April 13, 2021, and to impose anti-dumping duties through a combination of fixed and variable tax rates. The dumping margin for all Chinese exporters is 19.0%.
