On September 4, 2025, the Australian Anti-Dumping Commission issued Notice No. 2025/085, stating that, in response to an application submitted by Orrcon Manufacturing Pty Ltd, an Australian domestic company, it initiated an anti-circumvention investigation into the anti-dumping case concerning hollow structural sections imported from mainland China, South Korea, Malaysia, and Taiwan, and the countervailing duty case concerning hollow structural sections imported from mainland China, to examine whether the products in question were exported to Australia through minor modifications to circumvent existing anti-dumping and countervailing duty measures. Grade A steel, The Australian Customs codes for the products in question are 7308.90.00.52, 7308.90.00.56, and 7308.90.00.65. The investigation period is from July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2025. The Australian Anti-Dumping Commission expects to complete its basic fact report no later than December 23, 2025, and submit its final determination report to the Australian Minister for Industry and Science no later than February 6, 2026.
On July 3, 2012, Australia issued affirmative final determinations on anti-dumping and countervailing duties on welded pipes from mainland China, Grade A steel, and affirmative final determinations on anti-dumping duties on welded pipes from South Korea, Malaysia and Taiwan.
On May 11, 2015, Australia initiated an anti-circumvention investigation into anti-dumping and countervailing duties on welded pipes imported from mainland China, South Korea, and Malaysia. On March 18, 2016, Australia issued a positive final determination in the case, including alloy welded pipes (under Australian customs codes 7306.61.00.90 and 7306.50.00.45) exported by mainland Chinese companies Dalian Srite High-Tech Co., Ltd., Tianjin Furende Steel Pipe Co., Ltd., Grade A steel, Tianjin Ruitong Steel Co., Ltd., Roswell SA R Limited, and Malaysian company Alpine Pipe Manufacturing SDN BHD within the scope of tariffs.
