From January to May 2024, China, as the largest consumer of iron ore in Australia, imported a total of 291 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 1%. The import volume in May increased by 8% month on month, reaching 62.8 million tons. From January to May, South Korea and Japan A1008 CS Type B steel imported 19.3 million tons (a year-on-year decrease of 4.9%) and 20 million tons (a year-on-year increase of 1.6%) from Australia A1008 CS Type B steel, respectively.
Among Australia's largest iron ore exporters, Rio Tinto ranks first with exports of 118.6 million tons, while BHP Billiton and FMG have exports of 113 million tons and 80.5 million tons, respectively A1008 CS Type B steel.
