Brazil makes preliminary anti-dumping ruling on galvanized and aluminum zinc coated coils from China

On April 3, 2025, the Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Brazilian SA553 Type III steel Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services (Minist é riodo Desenvolcimento), Indústria, Com é rcio e Servi ç os/Secretaria de Com é rcio Exterior has issued Announcement No. 23 of 2025, making a preliminary positive anti-dumping determination on galvanized and aluminum coated zinc sheet coils (Portuguese: laminados planos revestidos) originating in China. However, due to the need to further verify relevant data and analyze the impact of changes in China's export tax rebate policies, it is not recommended to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on the products involved in China. It has been decided to continue the SA553 Type III steel investigation and extend the deadline for making the final determination of this case to within 18 months from the date of filing. This case involves products under the tax numbers 7210.30.10, 7210.30.90, 7210.49.10, 7210.61.00, 7210.69.11, 7210.69.19, 7210.69.90, 7212.20.10, 7212.20.90, 7212.30.00, 7225.91.00, 7225.92.00, 7225.99.90, and 7226.99.00 of the Southern Common City.

On September 2, 2024, the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry, Trade and Services issued Announcement No. 47 of 2024, stating that in response to the application submitted by Brazilian domestic enterprises ArcelorMittal S.A., Companhia Sider ú rgica Nacional, and Usinas Sider ú rgicas de Minas Gerais S.A. on April 29, 2024, an anti-dumping investigation will be initiated against galvanized and aluminum zinc plated sheet curls originating in China. The dumping investigation period of the case is from January 2023 to December 2023, and the injury investigation SA553 Type III steel period is from January 2019 to December 2023.
