It is understood that in the past week, the Brazilian billet price has fallen again, currently around 520-530 US dollars per ton FOB, with a decrease of 10 US dollars per ton compared to the previous week.
At present, the domestic market in Brazil has a good transaction situation, with relatively few transactions exported to the United States. Due to the uncertain price prospects of hot rolled steel coils in the United States, the inquiry from American buyers for imported steel slabs is about $510/ton FOB. However, due to production costs and other factors, Brazilian exporters refuse to lower the price for sales and expect to maintain the price at $520-530/ton FOB.
For the later stage market, Brazilian exporters are relatively optimistic. Currently, there is still support for prices from domestic demand for steel billet in Brazil. Sellers are looking forward to a bottoming out and recovery in US hot rolled steel coil prices, and there may be stronger support for Brazilian slab export prices at that time.
