According to data from the US Department of Commerce, in August 2023, the total export volume of cold rolled steel sheet in the United States was 69168 metric tons, a decrease of 3.5% month on month and a year-on-year increase of 27.3%. During the same period, the total amount of cold rolled steel coil exports from the United States in August was $89.1 million (July 2023: $89.6 million; August 2022: $67.2 million).
In August 2023, Mexico was the largest exporter of heatwaves from the United States, with an export volume of 51648 metric tons, 55471 metric tons in July 2023, and 36701 metric tons in August 2022. During the same period, other major export destinations were Canada, with an export volume of 16900 metric tons. In August, there were no other important export destinations for cold rolls in the United States (export volume≥ 1000 metric tons)
