Colombia initiates anti-dumping sunset review investigation on steel profiles for galvanized and aluminum zinc coated gypsum board in China

The products involved in the case are galvanized and aluminum zinc alloy and non alloy steel profiles (gypsum board steel profiles) with a thickness of less than or equal to 0.46 millimeters, simple processing or cold processing, used for lightweight non structural buildings, involving products under Colombian tax codes 7216.61.00.00, 7216.91.00.00, and 7228.70.00.00. During the investigation of the case, the current anti-dumping duties remain in effect. The announcement shall come into effect from the date of publication in the official gazette.

Stakeholders should register their responses, submit case comments and evidence materials within 30 working days from the date of announcement.

On September 2, 2020, Colombia SMA490AP steel initiated an anti-dumping investigation into steel profiles for galvanized and aluminum zinc coated gypsum boards originating from China. On December 7, 2020, Colombia made a preliminary ruling on the case, which ruled that no temporary anti-dumping duties should be imposed. The case involves products under Colombian tax codes 7216.61.00.00, 7216.69.00.00, 7216.91.00.00, 7216.99.00.00, and 7228.70.00.00. On November 5, 2021, the Colombian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism issued Announcement No. 280, making a positive final ruling on the case and deciding to impose an anti-dumping duty of 37.88% on the SMA490AP steel products involved in the offshore declared price (FOB). The measure will take effect from the date of publication in the official gazette and is valid for three years.
