During the week ending December 8th, the domestic price of rebar in Egypt remained around $1156-1290 per ton EXW (including 14% value-added tax), with a slight increase of $5 per ton. In contrast, the fluctuation range has slightly narrowed.
In terms of transactions, the consumption of rebar in Egypt showed a monthly upward trend in the second half of the year, with a consumption of 537000 tons in September and 829400 tons in October HX460LAD+ZM steel. It is worth noting that construction activity in rural areas of Egypt was higher than usual in October, partly due to changes in relevant legislation. This revision allows builders to retain illegal buildings by paying fees instead of being forced to demolish them, in order to accelerate construction speed and significantly increase the consumption of rebar HX460LAD+ZM steel.
However, overall, under the dual impact of the amendment bill to suppress informal construction and the continuous shortage of currency in the economic environment, market sentiment is not optimistic. It is expected that domestic demand for rebar in Egypt may slightly slow down, and the sustained increase in consumption may be difficult to sustain HX460LAD+ZM steel.
