Erdemir, the largest comprehensive plate manufacturer in Türkiye, belongs to OYAK Maden Metalurji Group. According to the project documents submitted to the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the company will construct new coke ovens as well as sintering and hydrogen production facilities for approval in the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA). The Ministry of Environment has initiated the EIA approval process since January 4th S390GD+ZM steel .
The company will build a new No. 5 coke oven with an annual production capacity of 900000 tons near its existing facilities in Zongguldak Ereli, replacing the company's existing No. 3 coke oven. After the completion and operation of the No. 5 coke oven in 2025, Erdemir's coke oven production capacity will reach 1.8 million tons per year S390GD+ZM steel.
The company will also build a new sintering plant with an annual production capacity of 5 million tons, as well as a new hydrogen production facility with a production capacity of 600 standard cubic meters per hour, which will replace the company's existing hydrogen production facilities.
The company plans to complete mechanical assembly work and open these two facilities within 2025 S390GD+ZM steel .
