European Hot Roll Prices Decline, Buyers Prefer Small Batch Low Price Products

Share:

Takeout learned that in recent times, due to sufficient inventory, buyers tend to purchase small quantities of low-priced products, resulting in a slight drop in the price of hot coils in the northwest region of Europe. At present, the HCT780C+ZA steel ex factory price of hot coils in the European region is approximately 730-760 euros/ton (approximately 788-820 US dollars), but the actual transaction price is between 720-730 euros/ton (approximately 777-788 US dollars).

It is reported that the previous brief procurement peak resulted in relatively sufficient buyer inventory, and currently the European HCT780C+ZA steel hot coil market shows signs of weakness, with actual demand decreasing. Last week, some German steel mills purchased small batches of hot coils at a price of 730 euros per ton, with a scheduled delivery time of April. The low-priced purchase of small quantities of materials by buyers has to some extent driven down market prices. In addition, steel mills in northwestern Europe plan to restart blast furnaces, and the increase in supply will further limit the space for HCT780C+ZA steel price increases.
