On Wednesday, the prices of SG460W1 Grade C steel European hot coils remained largely unchanged, despite unstable demand. Mainstream suppliers in the market have a strong willingness to raise SG460W1 Grade C steel prices and will continue to maintain high prices in the first quarter of 2025. It is said that the hot coils delivered in December have basically sold out from the first tier suppliers. The quotation for coil delivery in January is 560-580 euros/ton EXW (591-613 US dollars/ton EXW), and the lowest hot coil price can reach 600 euros/ton EXW. The cost is basically maintained at 590 euros/ton EXW. Recently, a batch of January German goods were sold at a delivery price of 600 euros/ton, but the specifications have not yet been determined. In the Italian market, the price of hot coils may drop to 570-580 euros (560-570 euros per ton factory delivery, approximately 590 US dollars per ton EXW). Even some traders predict that the price will approach 550 euros/ton in the future.
In terms of imports, trade tariff barriers have only provided limited support to the SG460W1 Grade C steel European market, and the lack of actual demand is the main obstacle to the rebound of hot coil prices. The decrease in import quantity will be reflected tomorrow in March and April. And the current exchange rate of the US dollar against the euro has also intensified the pressure on imported resources. The price of hot rolls originating in Türkiye dropped to 610-620 euros/ton (including anti-dumping duties) CFR Italy.
