According to the data of Türkiye Institute of Statistics (TUIK), in April 2023, Türkiye HC420LA steel will export 58500 tons of rebar to Israel, and Türkiye will be the largest exporter of rebar at that time. However, according to TUIK data, in April 2024, Türkiye only exported 10800 tons of rebar to Israel. The Ministry of Trade of Türkiye announced that on May 2, 2024, it had completely stopped all trade with Israel for 54 categories of products, including steel and aluminum.
However, Türkiye's total export of deformed steel bars HC420LA steel in April 2024 has not been affected, increasing instead of decreasing. Data shows that Türkiye's total export of deformed steel bars in April 2024 is 298500 tons, up about 61% year on year. From the data point of view, Türkiye has changed its export focus. Yemen has become the largest exporter of rebar in Türkiye in April 2024, with the export volume of 36600 tons, followed by the United States, with the export volume of 26300 tons. The amount of rebar exported to the United States in the same period last year was 0.
In addition, in April 2024, Türkiye's HC420LA steel main export destinations of deformed steel bars are Jamaica (20700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 35%), Dominica (19000 tons, a year-on-year increase of about four times), Romania (17000 tons), Ethiopia (16700 tons), the Netherlands (16500 tons), Albania (13000 tons), Panama (10500 tons).
