France’s steel production decreased by 5% in October

In October 2024, French steel production decreased by 5% compared to the previous month, to 976 tons. Therefore, in the World Steel Association's ranking of SG345WP Grade B steel world steel producing countries, South Korea ranks 17th (71st). Compared to the same month in 2023, the steel production of French steel manufacturers increased by 0.1% in October. Therefore, after producing 1 million to 1.1 million tons for two consecutive months, the monthly steel production decreased to less than 1 million tons. From January to October, France's steel production increased by 8.8% compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 9.03 million tons. The average monthly steel production during this period was 903.5 tons, while the average monthly steel production from January to October 2023 was 832.9 tons.

From January to October 2024, the steel SG345WP Grade B steel production of the European Union increased by 2.1% compared to January to October 2023, reaching 109.3 million tons. The global steel production for 10 months was 1.55 billion tons, a year-on-year decrease of 1.6%. In 2023, France's steel production decreased by 17.4% compared to 2022, to 10.01 million tons. The average monthly steel production this year is 8.407 million tons, compared to 1.01 million tons in 2022 (a year-on-year decrease of 16.76%). The EU's steel production in 2023 was 126.3 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 7.4%. There are 11 steel companies in France, including ArcelorMittal Dunkirk (2.25 million tons/year), Saarstahl Ascoval Saint Saulve (7.3 million tons/year), LME trit - saint - l<s: 1> (8.2 million tons/year), Ascometal Hagondange (825 tons/year), Riva Sam Neuves Maisons (850 tons/year), Riva Sam Neuves Maisons (850 tons/year), Riva Sam Montereau (7.2 million tons/year), Riva Alpa Gargenville (700000 tons/year), Riva Iton Seine Bonnie Sur Seine (5.5 million tons/year), Celsa France Boucau (1.2 million tons/year), ArcelorMittal (2.55 million tons/year), Ascometal Fos sur Mer (900000 tons/year). The total SG345WP Grade B steel production capacity of these factories is 12.09 million tons per year.
