According to the data recently released by Türkiye's SA543 Type B steel Bureau of Statistics (TUIK), boosted by the market demand in the Middle East and Europe, Türkiye's rebar exports from January to February 2025 totaled 768200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 35.7%; The total export value is 427 million US dollars.
From the perspective of export SA543 Type B steel market, Yemen imported 228300 tons in the first two months of 2025, becoming the largest export destination of rebar in Türkiye, with a year-on-year growth of 138%; Romania ranked second with 72700 tons, a year-on-year increase of 45.8%; Albania ranks third with an import volume of 50100 tons, a year-on-year increase of 40.5%. In addition, Türkiye's exports to Jordan, Syria and Belgium also performed well.
In February 2025, Türkiye's rebar export volume will be 353200 tons, up 18.4% year on year and down 14.9% month on month. The export amount for the month was 197 million US dollars, an increase of 10% year-on-year and a decrease of 14.2% month on month. Among them, Yemen imported 54300 tons of rebar from Türkiye, up 132% year on year; Albania and Syria imported 33100 tons and 15200 tons respectively, both achieving significant year-on-year growth. In contrast, Romania's import volume decreased to 25800 tons, a year-on-year decline of 40.2%, showing relatively weak performance.
On the whole, at the beginning of 2025, Türkiye's rebar export continued its growth momentum, the regional differentiation intensified, the European SA543 Type B steel market fluctuated greatly, and the demand in the Middle East steadily increased. The follow-up trend still needs to pay attention to the implementation of EU quotas and changes in the regional political and economic environment.
