From January to September 2024, affected by export restrictions on Israel S235W Grade D steel, Türkiye's rebar export volume dropped by 5% year-on-year to 2.56 million tons. In April, the Ministry of Trade of Türkiye fully suspended trade with Israel, resulting in a sharp drop of 86.9% in the export volume of the market. At the same time, Palestine has become a new export destination, and Türkiye's rebar export to Palestine has increased to 102000 tons. In the same period last year, because Palestine has no independent customs, steel S235W Grade D steel products need to be transferred through Israeli ports, which is almost zero.
Yemen is still Türkiye's largest export destination of rebar, with an export volume of 434400 tons. Romania ranked second, reaching 201400 tons, a significant year-on-year increase. Other major markets include Albania, Ethiopia, and Northern Cyprus. Our data shows that the export S235W Grade D steel price of rebar in Türkiye at the end of October was 590 US dollars/ton FOB.
