We have learned that India has recently imported some Vietnamese heat coils. We have learned that the transaction price is approximately $590-595 per ton CFR India, with a shipping schedule at the end of June. Recently, approximately 20000 to 30000 tons of Vietnamese hot coil resources have been exported to India, with most buyers being Indian pipe manufacturers and a small portion being Indian traders.
Importers have reported that they have learned that some Vietnamese resource exports have been made to Mumbai, India, at a price of approximately 590-595 US dollars per ton CFR Mumbai, which is equivalent to Indian buyers HR420LA steel purchasing hot coils at a local price of 51000-51500 rupees per ton (614-620 US dollars per ton) EXW. The transaction hot coil specification is 2-6mm (because the Vietnamese steel mill only obtained BIS certification for this specification).
The tradable price for Indian HR420LA steel imported Chinese hot coils is approximately 570-575 US dollars per ton of CFR, which is equivalent to Indian buyers purchasing hot coils at a local price of 53300-53800 rupees per ton (641-647 US dollars per ton) EXW, and the price is not advantageous. In addition, India's imports of Vietnamese hot coils have zero import tariffs, while imports of Chinese HR420LA steel hot coils require an import tariff of 8.25%, making the prices of Chinese hot coil resources less competitive compared to others
