On September 11th, the Indian S275ML steel Ministry of Steel released preliminary data showing that India will continue to maintain its position as a net importer of steel from April to August of the 2024-25 fiscal year, importing 3.5 million tons of steel, a year-on-year increase of 25%.
Data shows that India's steel S275ML steel exports during this period were approximately 1.9 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 40%.
The national steel production and consumption increased by 5% and 14% respectively year-on-year, reaching 59 million tons and 60.3 million S275ML steel tons.
