In January 2025, the total crude steel SA302 Grade B steel production of the Commonwealth of Independent States and Ukraine decreased both month on month and year on year, reflecting the seasonal weakness of the market. According to Worldsteel data, the total crude steel production of CIS countries and Ukraine in January was 6.49 million tons, a decrease of 6% from December 2024. Among them, Ukraine's crude steel production slightly decreased by 1% to 540800 tons, while the decline in other countries was more significant. Kazakhstan's SA302 Grade B steel crude steel production decreased by 11% to 322300 tons, while Russia's crude steel production was 5.45 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 9%.
Compared to January 2024, the overall crude steel production decreased by 6% year-on-year. Although Kazakhstan SA302 Grade B steel has grown by 10% against the trend, Russia's crude steel production has still declined by 10%, and Ukraine has decreased by 1% year-on-year. In addition, the World Steel Association has stopped releasing monthly crude steel production data for Belarus.
