According to our information, the monthly Japanese scrap steel export S460 Grade D steel tender for Tetsugen in the Kanto region ended at a lower price on Wednesday.

In Wednesday's bidding, JFE Shoji successfully won 15000 tons of Japanese H2 grade scrap steel, with a transportation date of October 31st and a price of 42720 yen/ton FOB (302 US dollars/ton), or approximately 308 US dollars/ton FOB Japan. The winning bid price is 4212 yen/ton lower than last month's bidding price, which was held on August 9th.

In US dollars, the latest winning bid price in the Kanto S460 Grade D steel region is $24/ton lower than last month's offshore price of $326/ton or approximately $332/ton at the port of Japan. The Japanese scrap steel tender goods on September 11th will be shipped to Bangladesh, the same as the tender goods from last month.

At the same time, Tokyo Steel has recently lowered its domestic purchase of scrap steel prices by 1000-1500 yen/ton at various steel mills and scrap yards. This includes a reduction in the purchase price of H2 scrap steel to be transported to Utsunomiya Steel S460 Grade D steel Plant by 1500 yen/ton to 41500 yen/ton, effective from September 12th. The previous H2 purchase price was 43000 yen/ton, and the price was only valid for two days from September 10th to 11th.
