According to customs statistics released by the Japan VE03 steel Steel Federation (JlSF), the export volume of Japanese steel products in May this year was 2.77 million tons, a month on month increase of 10.0% and a year-on-year decrease of 8.3%. From January to May this year, the export volume of Japanese VE03 steel products was 13.11 million tons, a decrease of 4.9% compared to the same period last year.
As for Japan's main steel product export market, in the first five months of this year, Japan's total steel exports to South Korea were 2.13 million tons, a decrease of 17.2%, while steel exports to China increased by 0.5%, reaching 1.19 million tons. Exports to Taiwan, China were 743152 tons, up 5.4% year on year; Exporting 1.78 million tons to Thailand, a year-on-year decrease of 11.7%; Exports to the United States VE03 steel amounted to 506.074 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 0.5%.
