According to preliminary census data from the US S275M Grade D Department of Commerce, the total amount of imported slab in July this year was 342291 tons, an increase of 7.3% month on month and a decrease of 20.0% compared to the same period last year. In terms of value, the total import value of slab in July this year was 221.9 million US dollars, compared to 214.1 million US S275M Grade D dollars in June and 331.4 million US dollars in July 2023. In July, the United States imported the most slabs from Brazil, at 293472 tons, compared to 226957 tons in June and 284683 tons in July. The other main sources of imported slab in July include Canada (35406 tons) and Japan S275M Grade D steel (13387 tons).
