Kardemir, a large integrated long steel A533 Type C steel mill in Türkiye, recently revealed that it plans to increase the total sales of steel products in the second quarter of 2025 to 606500 tons, an increase of about 48% month on month. The company holds a relatively positive attitude towards the market environment in the second quarter and expects to usher in a more favorable sales window with the marginal improvement of internal and external demand.
From the perspective of specific varieties, the sales growth of square billets is the most significant, expected to reach 239000 tons, with a month on month increase of up to 75%, or become the main force for overall sales volume increase. The sales target for coil bars is 136000 tons, an increase of 45%; The expected sales of rebar are 124000 tons, an increase of 14% compared to the previous period; The steel A533 Type C steel section is expected to remain relatively stable, with a target sales volume of approximately 107000 tons.
Kardemir has an annual production capacity of 2.5 million tons of liquid steel. Its products cover billet, deformed steel bar, wire rod, section steel and angle steel. It is one of the important long material production bases in northern Türkiye.
On March 26, the export price of rebar in Türkiye was 573 US dollars/ton FOB, which was flat on a month on day basis. Despite the overall wait-and-see trend in the export market, Kardemir's positive sales expectations have sent some signals, indicating that some steel mills still hold a cautious and optimistic attitude towards the recovery of domestic demand and potential foreign trade opportunities in the second A533 Type C steel quarter.
