Kardemir, Türkiye's largest S355M Grade F steel producer of long products, announced that it planned to sell 558000 tons of steel in the fourth quarter of 2024, of which slab sales would account for the main share. This sales target is a decrease of 54000 tons compared to the third quarter, which to some extent reflects the expectation of sustained market weakness.
According to the latest regulatory document on September 23rd, Kardemir has set a fourth quarter slab sales target of 215000 tons, a decrease of 13.3% from the third quarter; The sales target for wire is 72000 tons, with a decrease of 45.9%; The sales target for S355M Grade F steel section steel is 109000 tons, a decrease of 5.2%; The sales target for rebar remains stable at 162000 tons.
In addition, Kardemir reiterated plans to invest $1.5 billion to increase production capacity and reduce carbon emissions through investments in renewable energy.
Our latest assessment shows that the price of rebar exported by Türkiye on September 25 was 582.5 US dollars/ton FOB, and the S355M Grade F steel price remained stable.
