According to the data of Türkiye Statistics Bureau (TUIK), in November 2023, Türkiye's imports of cold-rolled flat steel will reach 68000 tons, an increase of 58.3% year on year and a decrease of 25% month on month.
In November 2023, South Korea S280GD+AZ steel will become the largest supplier of cold rolled flat steel in Türkiye, supplying 29000 tons, accounting for 42.2% of Türkiye's total monthly imports. As the second largest supplier, China supplied 11000 tons, accounting for 17% of the market share. In 2023, Asian countries have become the main supplier of cold rolled S280GD+AZ steel flat steel in Türkiye, accounting for 54%, while the cumulative proportion of the previous year was only 4%.
The increase in the proportion of Asian supply is mainly due to the decrease in Russian supply. In November 2022, Russia supplied 32000 tons, accounting for 76% of Türkiye's total imports. In November 2023, this number decreased to 8721 tons, a decrease of 73%. Today, Russia, as the third largest supplier of cold rolled flat steel in Türkiye, accounts for 12.9% of the total S280GD+AZ steel supply .
