Today, the prices of hot rolled steel coils in Europe have risen, especially in the southern market. The current transaction atmosphere in Italy is better than in Germany. It is reported that the transaction price for small batch hot rolled coils in Italy is 675-680 euros/ton EXW, and the transaction price for factory delivery in Italy is 665-670 euros/ton EXW. The price of hot rolled HCT780C+ZF steel coils increased by 15 euros/ton on the same day. Driven by the Asian market, it is expected that European import prices will also experience a period of increase, coupled with the imminent depletion of quotas from January to March 2024. Therefore, European traders may be more inclined towards the domestic market in the future. The transaction prices in northwestern Europe also fluctuate within the above range. Currently, the export quotation for the Middle East is 630 euros/ton CIF Italy (685 dollars/ton CIF), and it is expected that the import quotation will increase by around 30-40 euros/ton in the coming period. It is worth noting that one of the reasons for the current improvement in transactions may be the replenishment behavior before Christmas, with real demand still remaining low.
Similarly, the prices of cold rolled HCT780C+ZF steel coils and hot-dip galvanizing HCT780C+ZF steel in Europe are also showing an upward trend, with the increase in import prices combined with long delivery cycles providing support for domestic market prices and making buyers more optimistic about the market. In the northwest European market, the local cold coil market price is 750 euros/ton EXW (815 US dollars/ton), while in southern Europe, the cold coil price is 760 euros/ton EXW (830 US dollars/ton EXW), an increase of about 20 euros/ton compared to the previous day. The actual transaction price remains at this price.
