Local rebar prices in Mexico have seen a significant decline. Buyers have sufficient inventory and are seeking low-priced resources

Last week, the local rebar prices in Mexico experienced a significant decline, with the mainstream HX300LAD+AZ steel price currently around 17500 pesos/ton (approximately $1016/ton), and a drop of 400 pesos/ton (approximately $23.22/ton) within a week.

We have learned that a Mexican steel mill's thread new order HX300LAD+AZ steel quotation has been lowered to 18000 pesos/ton. Three buyers have countered with a price of 175000 pesos/ton, while one has countered with a price as low as 17300 pesos/ton, and the actual purchase intention of the buyers is relatively low. A buyer revealed that the transaction price was 17400 pesos/ton, and stated that due to the continued low demand, dealers have been continuously reducing prices to reduce inventory. However, most buyers currently have sufficient inventory and are not in a hurry to make a purchase.

Due to the significant drop in local rebar prices, some steel mills cancelled their orders last week. At present, buyers are offering no more than 17500 pesos per ton, making it difficult to find actual purchasing information in the HX300LAD+AZ steel market.
