Malaysia temporarily exempts Vietnam’s Tay Nam Steel Company from anti-dumping duties, awaiting review results by the end of August

The Malaysian A387 Grade 2 steel Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry recently announced that Tay Nam Steel Manufacturing and Trading Co., Ltd. in Vietnam will be temporarily exempted from anti-dumping duties on coated steel for about six months, awaiting the results of the review.

Tay Nam A387 Grade 2 Steel requests a quick review, stating that during the investigation period, it did not export pre coated/painted/color coated steel coils to Malaysia and was not related to any producer or exporter subject to anti-dumping duties in the exporting country.

The Malaysian A387 Grade 2 steel Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry has stated that a rapid review will be conducted from February 22 to August 20, during which no anti-dumping duties will be imposed on goods originating from or exported from Tay Nam Steel.

The customs codes of the products involved are 7210701100, 7210701900, 7210709110, 7210709190, 7210709910, and 7210709990.

The current anti-dumping duties imposed on China and Vietnam range from 12.06% to 52.10%, which will take effect from July 20, 2021 and expire on July 19, 2026.
