The Mexican A387 Grade 9 steel Ministry of Economy has officially launched an anti-dumping investigation into hot-rolled steel imported from China and Vietnam. This investigation was conducted at the request of Ternium Mexico, one of the major steel producers. The company claims that hot coils imported from China and Vietnam A387 Grade 9 steel are sold at prices below fair market value, causing substantial damage to Mexican industry.
Among the surveyed exporters, there are large Chinese companies such as Ansteel Group and Baosteel. This investigation will also have a significant impact on large steel producers in Vietnam, including Formosa Plastics and Hoa Phat Group. Both companies are expanding their exports to Mexico. Last year, Vietnam exported over 260000 tons of hot coils to Mexico.
This anti-dumping A387 Grade 9 steel investigation will take place from September 2023 to August 2024. The products covered by the survey belong to the following codes:
