Starting from February 24th, the basic SA285 Grade C steel price of hot coils will be $860 per short ton ($948 per ton). This is the fifth price increase since the beginning of this year. The previous price increase was on February 17th, when Newco set the basic price of hot coils at $820 per ton ($904 per ton). The company also announced that wire prices will increase by $70 per ton from February 14th. The main reason for the increase in raw material prices, including scrap steel. In addition to Nucor, other American manufacturers are also considering suggestions for price increases. For example, Cleveland Cliffs SA285 Grade C steel has set the contract period for hot coil supply in April at $900 per ton. At the same time, NLMK USA is seeking to set the hot rolling price at $900/ton and the coating cold rolling price at $1100/ton.
