Nippon Steel says US tariffs may cause annual crude steel production in Japan to fall below 80 million tons

On the same day, Masamasa Imai, President of Nippon Steel SA517 Grade P steel Corporation, stated at a press conference that the Trump administration's measures to impose tariffs on steel, aluminum, automobiles, and other products may reduce Japan's domestic crude steel production by millions of tons per year, and the total SA517 Grade P steel production may drop to below 80 million tons.
