We have learned that the overall SM490A steel quotations for square billets in China and Southeast Asia have increased recently. At present, the quotation for square billets with a specification of 3sp in Indonesia is $505/ton FOB, while the mainstream export price for square billets with the same specification in China is about $505-510/ton FOB. Some steel mills have expressed their unwillingness to sell at prices lower than this range in the near future, and the overall quotation has increased by about $5-10/ton compared to the previous week. In terms of transactions, it has been heard that Chinese SM490A steel square billets with a specification of 5sp have been sold to the Philippines at a price of 525 US dollars per ton of CFR.
The overseas demand for Vietnamese SM490A steel steel billets has recently declined, and we have heard that demand from the United States is gradually weakening. In addition, the continuous depreciation of the Vietnamese dong has led to a lack of support for Vietnamese steel billets. Currently, the quotation for Vietnamese steel billets with a specification of 3sp is about $500/ton FOB, a decrease of about $5/ton compared to the previous week.
