According to local media reports on May 27, 2024, Philippine steel giant SteelAsia Manufacturing Corporation is planning to invest $1.11 billion in Luzon and Mindanao to build four new steel mills in the next two to three years to enrich its product line and expand its business presence in the country. After the HC300B steel project is put into operation, Asia Steel Company will fill the gap in the Philippines where steel products such as H-beams, I-beams, wire rods, steel sheet piles, and billets cannot be produced domestically.
Among them, two steel mills located in Kandraria HC300B steel and Davo are expected to be put into operation in 2026. The former focuses on producing large section steel with a rolling capacity of 750000 tons; The latter mainly produces steel billets with an annual production capacity of 500000 tons.
In addition, the two new HC300B steel factories built in Tarak are expected to be put into operation in 2027. After completion and operation, the annual production capacity of rebar will increase by 1.2 million tons, while achieving the goal of producing 500000 tons of wire rod annually.
