Review Investigation of 84000 Tons of Cold Rolled Products Exported from China to Malaysia from January to November 2024

On December 25, 2024, the Malaysian 14Ni14 steel Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry announced the initiation of an anti-dumping sunset review on cold-rolled steel coils with a width ≥ 1300 millimeters originating from or imported from China, Japan, South Korea and Vietnam, upon application by Mycron Steel CRC Sdn. Bhd. The products involved do not include tin plated black steel plates and cold-rolled steel coils used for automotive and finned transformer terminals.

Previously, in 2019, Malaysia 14Ni14 steel initiated an anti-dumping investigation into the above-mentioned products and ruled on December 26 of the same year to impose anti-dumping duties on China (4.76% -26.38%), Japan (26.39%), South Korea (0% -3.84%), and Vietnam (7.70% -20.13%) for a period of 5 years. The measure came into effect on December 25, 2019 and was terminated on December 24, 2024. The tariff codes of the products involved include 7209.15.00.00, 7209.16.90.00, 7209.17.90.00, 7209.18.99.00, and 7225.590.00.
From January to November 2024, the export volume of Chinese 14Ni14 steel products involved in the case was 4.625 million tons, and the export volume to Malaysia was 84000 tons, accounting for 1.82%.
