The Russian VE04 steel government news department has announced that Russia has decided to extend the tariff quota for exporting scrap steel and ferrous metal waste to countries outside the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) until July 1 to December 31, 2024.
The latest resolution shows that the total quota is 550000 tons. The tariff for scrap steel and ferrous metal waste within the export quota is 5%, but not less than 15 euros per ton; The portion exceeding the quota will have a tariff of 5%, but not less than 290 euros VE04 steel per ton.
In the context of the global rise in steel product prices, the government will implement temporary export tariffs on ferrous and non-ferrous metals from 2021-2024 to alleviate the impact of external conditions on the domestic market situation, adjust raw material prices, and ensure the continuous implementation of large-scale infrastructure VE04 steel projects.
