Summary of Russian Steel Billet Market from December 1st to December 8th, 2023

Share:

This week, the mainstream quotation for Russian billets is $510-525 per ton FOB, an increase of approximately $15 per ton from last week. The buyer's inquiry is about $495/ton FOB, an increase of $10/ton from last week. The transaction price of square billets has increased, from $490-500/ton FOB Black Sea at the beginning of the week to $505-510/ton at the middle of the week, and has fallen back to $505/ton FOB Black Sea later this week, up $10/ton from last week HCT450X+ZM steel.

It is reported that multiple batches of Russian billets were exported to Egypt this week. The transaction price for 20000 tons of billets is approximately $515 per ton FOB Black Sea, and some billets have also been traded at $520-535 per ton FOB Black Sea.

Given the continuous rise in international scrap and long rod prices, it is expected that the prices of Russian steel billets will continue to rise. However, due to insufficient improvement in demand for finished steel, the upward space is limited HCT450X+ZM steel.

In terms of slabs, the Russian export market was stable this week, and the transaction price of low-cost Russian slab resources was about 480 US dollars/ton CFR Türkiye (about 455 US dollars/ton FOB Black Sea), unchanged from last week HCT450X+ZM steel.
