Data shows that in the first quarter of 2025, Russian A662 Grade A steel billet exports showed a growth trend, with a significant increase in monthly shipments in March and a significant increase in exports to the Middle East market.

In March, the total export volume of Russian billets reached 459000 tons, an increase of 21% compared to the previous month. Among them, Russian steel company OEMK (affiliated with Metalloinvest) saw the most significant increase in exports to the United Arab Emirates, with a month on month growth of 72%, reaching 220000 tons, becoming one of the main drivers of export growth this month. Exports to Kazakhstan also increased significantly, with a month on month growth of 42% to 65000 tons; The supply to Uzbekistan A662 Grade A steel also slightly increased to 13000 tons, a 4% month on month growth. The exports of some traditional markets have declined. In March, the export of Russian billet to Türkiye decreased by 78%, only 10000 tons; Exports to Azerbaijan have also sharply decreased by 95%, to 100 tons; The supply to Taiwan, China declined by 6% to 96000 tons.

Overall, from January to March 2025, the cumulative export of Russian billets reached 1.26 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15%. The strong demand in the Middle East market has to some extent offset the weakness of some traditional markets, and the subsequent export trend still needs to pay attention to further changes in the A662 Grade A steel demand structure between regions.
