Severstal Boosts Structural Steel Capacity through Acquisitions

Severstal, one of the four largest steel producers in Russia, has announced the successful acquisition of Venturl Steel Solutions and its assets in the Tula and Kaluga regions, as well as a production base in Cherepowitz, to expand its S250GD+ZA steel production scale in the structural steel sector.

According to Severstal's plan, the total production capacity of structural steel will be increased to 126000 tons per year. Among them, 48000 tons of production capacity will be provided by Severstal after completing the 2025 expansion project, 48000 tons will be produced by Venturl Steel, and the Cherepowitz production base will complete the remaining 30000 tons after equipment renovation. Severstal plans S250GD+ZA steel to invest over 1 billion rubles (11.27 million US dollars) in the Cherepowitz production base to refurbish equipment and increase production capacity. After the investment and renovation project is completed, the Cherepowitz production base will be renamed Severstal Steel Structures and focus on producing circular S250GD+ZA steel metal structures and heavy-duty welded I-beams.
