On October 4, 2024, the Korea A572 Grade 42(290) steel Trade Commission issued a notice (case investigation number 23-2023-8) stating that an anti-dumping investigation has been initiated against hot-rolled carbon or other alloy steel plates originating in China, upon the application of Korean manufacturer Hwang A572 Grade 42(290) steel Steel Co., Ltd. The products involved are hot-rolled steel plates made of iron or non alloy steel, other alloy steel, with a thickness of not less than 4.75 millimeters and a width of not less than 600 millimeters, and have not been cold-rolled. They involve products under Korean tax codes 7208.51.1000, 7208.51.9000, 7208.52.1000, 7208.52.9000, 7225.40.9010, 7225.40.9091, and 7225.40.9099. The anti-dumping investigation period for this case is expected to be from July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2024, and the injury investigation period is expected to be from January 1, 2021 to June 30, 2024. Unless otherwise extended (up to two months), the preliminary ruling will be made within three months from the date of filing.
