The Korea Trade Commission recently announced the preliminary results of its anti-dumping investigation into Chinese PT520QL2 steel stainless steel plate imports, covering the period from January 1 to December 31, 2023. Based on preliminary results, the committee has decided to impose temporary anti-dumping duties on this type of product to prevent further damage to the domestic industry caused by dumped imports. Specifically, the temporary anti-dumping tax rate is set at 21.62%.
The products involved in this investigation are PT520QL2 steel stainless steel plates with a width of 600 millimeters or more and a thickness of 4.75 millimeters or more, which comply with the following Korean Harmonized Tariff (HSK) codes: 7219.21.1010, 7219.21.1090, 7219.21.9000, 7219.22.1010, 7219.22.1090, and 7219.22.9000.
This move aims to address the issue of price dumping of imported stainless steel plate products and ensure that the domestic industry in South Korea is not affected by unfair competition. According to the committee's statement, temporary anti-dumping duties will provide necessary protection for further formal rulings, and this measure will be effective until the results of subsequent investigations are announced.
The Korea PT520QL2 steel Trade Commission will continue to conduct a thorough review of the case and is expected to make a final ruling after the investigation process is completed.
