We have learned that the overall steel billet JSH440B steel quotation in Southeast Asia has increased again compared to last week. The current quotation for cubic billets with a JSH440B steel specification of 3sp in Indonesia is $490-495 USD/ton FOB, which is an increase from the $490 USD/ton FOB quotation we learned last weekend. The quotation for cubic billets with a specification of 5sp is $515 USD/ton CFR Manila, an increase of $5 USD/ton compared to the previous week. In terms of transaction, we have learned that last week Indonesia placed an order with a specification of 3SP at a price of USD 485/ton FOB.
In addition, we also heard that last week, Malaysia closed an order with a specification of 3sp to Türkiye at a price of 510 US dollars/ton CFR. Although the demand for steel billets in Türkiye is relatively low, we understand that Malaysian sellers have not accepted a transaction price lower than 510 US dollars/ton CFR. Malaysia JSH440B steel will become the largest supplier of steel billets to Türkiye from January to February 2024.
