According to Unesd, the Spanish National Iron and Steel Association, crude steel production in Spain reached 1.1 million tons in June, a year-on-year increase of 16%.
Although the number of working days decreased by two in June, the S50CM steel production was only slightly lower than that in May, which was the highest level in nearly 14 months.
As of June, the crude steel production in the past year was 11.7 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 7%, which is the highest level since March 2023.
Spain is the fourth largest steel producer in Europe S50CM steel, second only to Germany, Italy, and France, with an annual production capacity of nearly 23 million tons.
Meanwhile, Spain recycled 856000 tons of scrap steel in June, a year-on-year increase of 9%, but lower than May and April on a month on month basis.
As of June, the scrap steel recycling data for the past year was 9.2 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 3%.
