Steel giants join forces to lay out in Odisha, India

The Indian steel industry welcomes a landmark SA387 Grade 22L steel cooperation project - local steel company leader JSW and South Korean POSCO announced that they will jointly invest in the construction of a large integrated steel plant with an annual output of 5 million tons in Keonjhar district, Odisha state, India. This strategic level project has a total investment of 400 billion Indian rupees (approximately 4.59 billion US dollars).

As one of the most mineral rich regions in India, Odisha is a strategic location for steel companies, and the iron ore reserves in Keonjhar district account for over 40% of Odisha's total reserves. Adequate raw material SA387 Grade 22L steel supply radius can not only significantly reduce logistics costs for enterprises, but also ensure the long-term stability of production in new steel mills. It is reported that the region will vigorously develop the steel industry, which is expected to bring in an investment of 1 trillion rupees.
