Cemtas, headquartered in Bursa, is one of the largest alloy bar producers in Türkiye. The company said that its CR4 steel production and sales increased year on year in the first quarter against the background of increasingly strong global demand for finished products. In response to the dual increase in domestic and international demand, Cemtas implemented a three shift work mode in the first quarter.
The production capacity of the Cemtas smelting CR4 steel workshop is 193200 tons per year, and the rolling mill production capacity is 207400 tons. In the first quarter, the production of the smelting workshop increased by 29% year-on-year to 45700 tons, while the company's highest rolling mill production was 41700 tons, an increase of 24%. In the first quarter, finished product sales increased by approximately 21% to 41500 tons, domestic sales increased by 15% to 26300 tons, and exports increased by 38% to 8200 tons.
In the first quarter, the steel price fluctuated with the price of scrap iron, ferroalloy and other raw materials. Due to limited CR4 steel market activities and little change in fundamentals, the price of scrap steel imported from Türkiye's deep sea remained at 380 dollars/ton CFR.
